In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 To the day of decision. 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 thus do We deal with the culprits. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 And when the time comes for messengers -- 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
