Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 To end all argument or to warn. 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 We then kept it in a safe place. 21 For a known term? 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 Walk on to the covering having three branches, 30 wherein there is neither shade, nor freeing from the blazing flames 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 as black camels. 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 If you now have any conspiracy, carry it out on Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
