50 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah) before Q (Qaaf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the emissary winds, (sent) one after another 1 Then by oath of those that push with a strong gust. 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 by those who bring down the reminder, 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 till a known term decreed? 22 Thus did We Plan and how excellent is Our planning! 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle. 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 nor will they be permitted to offer any excuses. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 If you now have any conspiracy, carry it out on Me. 39 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 40
