Al-Naba' 2 of 2
The pious ones will be triumphant. 31 and gardens and vineyards, 32 and youthful maidens of like age, 33 And an overflowing cup. 34 No empty talk will they hear in that [paradise,] nor any lie. 35 [As] reward from your Lord, [a generous] gift [made due by] account, 36 [From] the Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, the Most Merciful. They possess not from Him [authority for] speech. 37 On that Day, when the Spirit (Gabriel) and the angels stand in ranks they shall not speak, except he to whom the Merciful has given permission, and says what is right. 38 That is the Sure Day. Whosoever therefore willeth, let him betake unto his Lord a resort. 39 We warn you of a punishment that has come near; a day on which man will see what his own hands have sent ahead, and the disbeliever will say, “Alas – if only I were dust!” 40

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
