The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 And who glide with ease. 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
