The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 then he mustered 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
