The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 and hastily turned away, 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 you pay attention 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
