The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 By the angels hastening, 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
