The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
