The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 And who glide with ease. 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
