The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 and gently take it away; 2 And who glide with ease. 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 And the second followeth it, 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
