The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 and gently take it away; 2 And who glide with ease. 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
