The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 and gently take it away; 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
