He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned (his) back, 1 Because there came to him the blind man (interrupting). 2 And what should teach thee? Perchance he would cleanse him, 3 or take heed and derive benefit from [Our] warning? 4 As for him who thinketh himself independent, 5 Unto him thou payest regard. 6 though you are not to blame if he would not cleanse himself. 7 But he who comes to you running, 8 And hath fear, 9 you pay no heed to him. 10 By no means! Verily it is an admonition. 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 upon highly honored pages, 13 lofty and pure, 14 (Set down) by scribes 15 Who are noble, virtuous. 16 Be cursed (the disbelieving) man! How ungrateful he is! 17 From what thing did He create him? 18 From a sperm-drop He created him and destined for him; 19 and made the path of guidance easy for him to follow. 20 then makes him to die, and buries him, 21 and then, if it be His will, He shall raise him again to life, 22 Yet man declines to do His bidding. 23 Then let man look at his food, (and how We provide it): 24 That We watered it in abundance. 25 and split the earth, splitting, 26 Thereby produced grain in it. 27 grapes, vegetables, 28 And olives and palms 29 And gardens of dense shrubbery 30 and fruits and herbage, 31 [As] enjoyment for you and your grazing livestock. 32 But when the Shout cometh 33 That Day shall a man flee from his brother, 34 And his mother and his father, 35 And his spouse and his son-- 36 every man that day shall have business to suffice him. 37 Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 38 laughing and joyful, 39 And faces on that Day! upon them shall be gloom. 40 Darkness shall cover them. 41 Those! they are the infidels, the ungodly. 42
