He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man (interrupting). 2 for how can you know that he might seek to purify himself, 3 Or that he might receive admonition, and that the admonition might profit him? 4 For him who does not care, 5 You pay full attention, 6 although it is not for you to be concerned if he remained unpurified. 7 As for the one who comes to you earnestly (striving for guidance). 8 and fears (Allah), 9 you pay him no heed. 10 By no means! Verily it is an admonition. 11 So whoso wills may give heed to it. 12 (This Quran) is also recorded in honorable books, 13 uplifted, purified, 14 By the hands of scribes. 15 Noble and righteous. 16 Be cursed (the disbelieving) man! How ungrateful he is! 17 From what did He create him? 18 From a sperm-drop: He hath created him, and then mouldeth him in due proportions; 19 and made the path of guidance easy for him to follow. 20 then causes him to die and buries him, 21 Then when He pleases, He will bring him back to life. 22 By no means he performed not that which He had commanded him. 23 Let the human being think about (how We produce) his food. 24 We poured out the rains abundantly, 25 and split the earth, splitting, 26 And caused to grow within it grain 27 and vines, and reeds, 28 And olives and date palms, 29 And enclosed gardens luxuriant. 30 And fruits and herbage 31 For use and convenience to you and your cattle. 32 But, when the Blast comes, 33 upon the day when a man shall flee from his brother, 34 And from his mother and father, 35 And from his wife and his children. 36 Everyone on that Day will have affairs to keep him occupied. 37 Many a face will be glittering on that day. 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 but some faces will be covered with dust 40 Dust shall cover them 41 They will be the unbelievers, transgressors. 42
