The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is overthrown, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 And when the seas rise, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 Then where are you going? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
