The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 So whither do you stray? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
