The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 where then are you going? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
True are the words of God the Almighty.
