The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 And when the stars fall, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed 9 And when the pages are made public 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 And the close of night, 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 Where then are you going? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
