The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas rise, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 So whither do you stray? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
