The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 Where then will you go? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
