Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 by the night swarming, 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
