The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 and the night that falls, 17 And the breath of morning 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 So whither do you stray? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
