The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 So where are you going? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
