The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 And when the books are spread, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 by the night when it approaches 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
