The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 So whither do you stray? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
