The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 And the breath of morning 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
