The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 that hide, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Then where are you going? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
