The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 And when the souls are paired 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 by the night swarming, 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
