The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 And when the stars fall, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
