The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 BUT NAY! I call to witness the revolving stars, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 by the night swarming, 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 So where are you going? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
