The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is wound up; 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 And when the seas rise, 6 And when souls are united, 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 and the night that falls, 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 Where then will you go? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
