The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 And the close of night, 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
