The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky bursts open, 1 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should; 2 And when the earth shall be stretched forth. 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 5 O man! surely you must strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him. 6 Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 and will return rejoicing to his family. 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 and surely thought he would never return (to his Lord). 14 But he will indeed! His Lord was ever watching him. 15 So I do call to witness the ruddy glow of Sunset; 16 And [by] the night and what it envelops 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 Therefore give to them glad tidings of a painful punishment, 24 Save those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them is a reward that will never come to an end (i.e. Paradise). 25
