The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 and when the earth is stretched out 3 And casts forth what is in it and becomes empty, 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O man! surely you must strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him. 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And he shall go back to his people joyful. 9 But whoso is given his account behind his back, 10 he shall call for destruction 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 for he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 And by the night and whatever it gathers in its darkness; 17 And by the moon when she becometh full. 18 That you will climb from stage to stage. 19 Then what ails them, that they believe not, 20 and when the Koran is recited to them that they do not prostrate! ۩ 21 No, the unbelievers only belie, 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 So give them news of painful punishment, 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
