The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven breaks apart. 1 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should; 2 And when the earth is spread out 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 and obeys its Lord as it must, 5 Thou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence). 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 and will return rejoicing to his family. 9 And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back 10 Soon will he cry for perdition, 11 And he shall roast into a Blaze. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 Nay, nay! for his Lord was (ever) watchful of him! 15 So indeed I call to witness the evening twilight, 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 And by the moon when it is at the full, 18 you will progress from stage to stage. 19 What aileth them then, that they believe not, 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 Nay! those who disbelieve give the lie to the truth. 22 and Allah knows very well what they gather. 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 But for those who believe and do good works; for them there shall be a never-ending reward. 25
