The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder, 1 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 And casts forth what is in it and becomes empty, 4 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed! 5 Human being, you strive hard to get closer to your Lord, and so you will certainly receive the recompense (of your deeds). 6 Whoever is given the Record in his right hand 7 Soon will his account be taken by an easy reckoning, 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 But he who is given the Record behind his back, 10 he will pray for utter destruction 11 And shall enter a blazing Fire, and made to taste its burning. 12 Surely he was (erstwhile) joyful among his followers. 13 and had thought that they would never be brought back to life again. 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 And the Moon in her fullness: 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 What aileth them then, that they believe not, 20 And that, when the Qur'an is read unto them, they prostrate not them-selves! ۩ 21 Nay, but they who are bent on denying the truth give the lie [to this divine writ]! 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds for them is a reward that will never end. 25
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
