The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven, holding the big stars. 1 And by the Promised Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 2 and [of] Him who witnesses [all,] and [of] that unto which witness is borne [by Him]! 3 Cursed were the people of the ditch (the story of the Boy and the King). 4 with fire abounding in fuel, 5 When they sat by it, 6 and they were witnesses of what they did to the believers 7 and their revenge on them was only because they believed in Allah, the Almighty, the Praised, 8 to whom belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and earth. And Allah is the Witness of all things. 9 Those who persecuted the believing men and women and never repented, there is for them the punishment of Gehenna (Hell), and for them the punishment of the burning. 10 Indeed those who believed and did good deeds – for them are Gardens beneath which rivers flow; this is the great success. 11 Verily the grip of thine Lord is severe. 12 He it is Who creates for the first time and He it is Who will create again, 13 He is the forgiving and the loving, 14 Lord of the Arsh, the Glorious, 15 a sovereign doer of whatever He wills. 16 Did the story of the armies reach you? 17 Of Pharaoh and Thamud come to you? 18 Yet those who deny the truth persist in denial. 19 And Allah encompasses them from behind! (i.e. all their deeds are within His Knowledge, and He will requite them for their deeds). 20 Nay, but it is a glorious Qur'an. 21 On a guarded tablet. 22
