The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By oath of the heaven which contains the constellations. 1 by the Promised Day, 2 And by the Day witnessing and the Day witnessed, 3 THEY DESTROY [but] themselves, they who would ready a pit 4 with fire abounding in fuel, 5 When they were sitting near it 6 and were themselves witnesses of what they did with the believers. 7 And what did they dislike from the Muslims, except that the Muslims accepted faith in Allah the Most Honourable, the Most Praiseworthy? 8 Whose kingdom spreads over the heavens and the earth. God is witness over everything. 9 Verily those who affected the believing men and the believing women, and then repented not, theirs shall be the torment of Hell, and theirs shall be the torment of burning. 10 (But) for those who believe and do good works, for them there are Gardens underneath which rivers flow that is the Great Victory! 11 The grip of your Lord is severe indeed! 12 It is verily He who initiates and repeats. 13 And He alone is truly-forgiving, all-embracing in His love, 14 Honorable Owner of the Throne, 15 The Doer of whatever He wants. 16 HAS IT ever come within thy ken, the story of the [sinful] hosts 17 Of Pharaoh and (the tribe of) Thamud? 18 Nay! those who disbelieve are in (the act of) giving the lie to the truth. 19 And Allah, all unseen, surroundeth them. 20 Aye! it is a Recitation glorious, 21 upon an imperishable tablet [inscribed]. 22
