The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heaven adorned with big stars. 1 And by the Promised Day. 2 and by the witness (Muhammad) and that which is witnessed (the Day of Judgment), 3 Cursed were the people of the ditch (the story of the Boy and the King). 4 Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel, 5 when they were seated over it 6 And they witnessed what they were doing against the believers (i.e. burning them). 7 They took revenge on them only because they believed in the All-mighty, the Al-laudable, 8 Who, to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness over everything. 9 Lo! they who persecute believing men and believing women and repent not, theirs verily will be the doom of hell, and theirs the doom of burning. 10 But those who believe and do good deeds shall be rewarded with gardens watered by flowing rivers. That is the supreme triumph. 11 The grip of your Lord is severe indeed! 12 Indeed it is He Who initiates and redoes. 13 And He is the Fogiving, the Loving, 14 Lord of the Throne, the All-glorious, 15 a sovereign doer of whatever He wills. 16 Has the story reached you of the hosts, 17 of Pharaoh, and of [the tribe of] Thamud? 18 Yet the infidels persist in denial. 19 but all the while God encompasses them [with His knowledge and might] without their being aware of it. 20 In fact it (what they deny) is the Noble Qur’an. 21 written on a preserved Tablet. 22
