The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the heaven, holding mansions of the stars, 1 And [by] the promised Day 2 And by the witnessing day (i.e. Friday), and by the witnessed day [i.e. the day of 'Arafat (Hajj) the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah]; 3 Accursed be the People of the Ditch! 4 Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel, 5 When they sat by it, 6 to watch what they were doing to the believers, 7 And they did not take vengeance on them for aught except that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praised, 8 Him unto Whom belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is of all things the Witness. 9 Surely those who tormented the believing men and the believing women and then did not repent, theirs shall be the chastisement of Hell, and theirs shall be the chastisement of burning. 10 Verily, those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them will be Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise). That is the great success. 11 Indeed, the seizing of your Lord is severe. 12 Surely it is He who originates, and brings again, 13 And He is the Fogiving, the Loving, 14 Owner of the Throne, the Exalted. 15 The great doer of what He will. 16 Has the story of the armies reached you, 17 Of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and Thamud? 18 And yet, they who are bent on denying the truth persist in giving it the lie: 19 But God surrounds them from all sides. 20 In fact it (what they deny) is the Noble Qur’an. 21 (Inscribed) in Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz (The Preserved Tablet)! 22
