The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the heaven adorned with big stars. 1 by the Promised Day, 2 And by the witness and that whereunto he beareth testimony, 3 Cursed be the makers of the pit, 4 Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel, 5 When they were sitting near it 6 And they witnessed what they were doing against the believers (i.e. burning them). 7 and their revenge on them was only because they believed in Allah, the Almighty, the Praised, 8 God to whom belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and God is Witness over everything. 9 Lo! they who persecute believing men and believing women and repent not, theirs verily will be the doom of hell, and theirs the doom of burning. 10 Lo! those who believe and do good works, theirs will be Gardens underneath which rivers flow. That is the Great Success. 11 The grip of your Lord is indeed severe, 12 it is He who begins and repeats [His creation], 13 and He is the Ever Forgiving, the Most Loving 14 Lord of the Arsh, the Glorious, 15 Who does as He pleases. 16 Has it come to you the story of the hosts 17 [Those of] Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 Nay! those who disbelieve are in (the act of) giving the lie to the truth. 19 although Allah surrounds them. 20 Nay! it is a glorious Quran, 21 Inscribed in a tablet preserved. 22
True are the words of God the Almighty.
