The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 - The piercing Star! 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 And no trifle. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 and I am devising guile. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
