The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the sky and the night comer - 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 That issued from between the loins and ribs. 7 Now, verily, He [who thus creates man in the first instance] is well able to bring him back [to life] 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 and is no idle tale. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
