The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
