The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 Let the human being reflect that from what he has been created. 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 not a flippant jest. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 Therefore give them some respite – give them some time. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
