Al-Taareq

The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 The piercing star! 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 So let man consider from what he is created. 5 he was created of gushing water 6 That issued from between the loins and ribs. 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 And no trifle. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 Therefore give them some respite – give them some time. 17

God the Almighty always says the truth.
