Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 he was created of gushing water 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 And it is no joke. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
