The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Hallow thou the name of thine Lord, the Most High, 1 who creates [every thing,] and thereupon forms it in accordance with what it is meant to be, 2 who has ordained and guided, 3 who brings forth green pasture, 4 And then makes it dark stubble. 5 We shall make thee read (O Muhammad) so that thou shalt not forget 6 Except what Allah pleases, surely He knows the manifest, and what is hidden. 7 We shall ease you to the easy. 8 Therefore remind, if the Reminder benefits, 9 and he who fears shall remember, 10 but the wretched will turn away from it. 11 even he who shall roast in the Great Fire, 12 Then he neither dies in it, nor lives. 13 Lasting happiness will be for those who purify themselves, 14 And recites the name of his Lord and serves with devotion. 15 But you prefer the present life, 16 Whereas the Hereafter is better and more lasting. 17 Most surely this is in the earlier scriptures, 18 the scriptures of Abraham and Moses. 19
