Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 Faces on that day humbled, 2 Labouring, wearied out, 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 Drinking from a boiling spring, 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger. 7 Many faces will be joyous on that day, 8 With their effort [they are] satisfied 9 They will be in a lofty Garden 10 wherein they shall hear no vain talk. 11 Therein will be a flowing spring, 12 therein uplifted couches 13 Goblets placed (ready), 14 And arranged carpets. 15 and outspread carpets. 16 Do (these unbelievers) not observe the camels: how they were created? 17 And the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And the mountains, how they were fixed; 19 And the earth how it has been spread out? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 But whoever turns back and disbelieves, 23 Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 To Us they will all return. 25 Then it will be for Us to call them to account. 26
True are the words of God the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
